After six years as the dean of career and technical education for the Northern Wyoming Community College District, Jed Jensen is one of three finalists for vice president of Gillette College. Jensen answered questions for nearly an hour in a public forum attended by about 30 people at the Technical Education Center on Tuesday afternoon and then appeared at a reception that evening.

Kemmerer miners and United Mine Workers of America members packed the South Lincoln Training and Event Center in Kemmerer on April 20 to hear contract negotiations between UMWA and Westmoreland leadership. The Campbell County Fire Department plans to request $115,346 in additional funding and has cut back overtime hours, on-call pay and equipment maintenance and purchases to make it through the final two months of the fiscal year without a deficit. The need for extra money, which must be approved by Campbell County, Gillette and Wright, stems from unforeseen payouts to full-time firefighters and legal expenses from an ongoing union lawsuit.

The Campbell County Commission and the County Clerk have had concerns recently about the county coroner not getting certain financial statements and records in on time, which have caused delays in the clerk's office. County Clerk Susan Saunders first started to notice that Laura Sundstrom, the coroner, wasn't getting her purchase orders in on time about four months ago.
